Hi,
I am currently doing a stage 1 install on a Sparcstation 5 (170MB ram, 2x 1G hd).
Stage 1 has finished successfully, however when i do the emerge system for stage 2, the compilation of perl fails. libperl has finished, but when it gets to perl i get hundereds of errors that quickly display on the screen, and i have to ctrl+c (otherwise it just does not stop). I have tried 3 times now with no success.
An example of the errors that appear are:

this occurs after compiling for about 2 hours. when i do a ctrl c i get:

has anyone else exprerienced this problem, or knows of a solution?
