damn...again without reiser4 :-o
sry for the spam, but i love love-sources, they´re by far the fastest and most responsive kernel-sources around :-)
(tried speedy, lokean etc, all nice work and reiser4 included, but not as good as love :( )

@OneofOne

The nforce patches can be taken out - they are not needed anymore. Just passing acpi_skip_timer_override is enough. I don't even know if the second one breaks stuff...so better do a rediff, w/o those patches.

I was actually wondering why love sources desided to not have reiser4? Would you be able to point me to a thread that explains the reason? I have searched but come up short.

For now I'm using speedy-sources to test out reiser4, but I would like to put love-sources back on.

i believe that -mm breaks reiser4 and since love is based upon -mm reiser4 can't be included. but i might be wrong.

Got this kernel to work but with no bootsplash.

2.6.6-rc3-love4 seem to run more smoothly than this kernel. I think I will use the older kernel until the next release.

"no supermount"? "supermount-2.0.4-2.6.5-love1.patch.bz2| supermount (IT MUST DIE, cmon people) "
and about the error not sure.
more details about the hardware maybe will explain it better.

I hope that's not true :\

I just tried 2.6.6-rc3-love4 two days ago and I honestly can't believe the speed difference on a7n8x-deluxe 2400+ 1GB ram....I previously had always run regular old development-sources 2.6.6-rc3...Anyhoo, I'm upgrading now to the *official** 2.6.6-r1 love4 to see what happens.... ;)[/quote]

Yeah, I am rebooting in a second. Quanta is a little slower. No problem, 2.6.6-rc3-love4 is a really good kernel.

I am half asleep at the moment. I will keep messing around with it.

Any ETA on when bootsplash will be fixed?

Been running it for a while now and it's working pretty smoothly. Bootsplash doesn't bother me anymore since it hasn't worked in such a long time, so I'm set. Keep up the good work!

@OneofOne

Regarding nforce2: Nothing. :) The shrew has been taimed. ;) There are still some issues left, but nothing directly regarding stability (at least for 99% of the people I guess).

Hmm, I am not a big chatter. Just write me an email if you have questions regarding patches for nforce2. But for the time being you can close this chapter. :)

A small wish: Could you upload Nick's scheduler patch onto your broken-out directory?

For everyone with nforce2: IT HAS BEEN FIXED!!! NO NEED FOR WORK-AROUNDS ANYMORE. 8)

no option for turning off 4k-stacks in 2.6.6-mm1 any more. don't know if it's the same with love1, but nvidia drivers will wether not load or lock X.
