Can someone please point me in the right direction (ie a web site) or tell me how to install an external hard drive?

One key thing I'm looking for is how to partition it. I've never partition an external one so I don't know how to go about doing it since it's through a USB connection.

Thanks for the help.

It will be the same as partitioning a normal harddrive but when you mount it, sence its USB, it will probably be seen as /dev/sda.
Make sure you have USB, USB Mass Storage, and SCSI emulation in your kernel.
That shoudl be all you need.

:)
