I keep seeing 'love-sources' mentioned everywhere here. What do they do that Gentoo-dev-sources don't? I know where to get them, but I want to know:

What the specific advantages (speed, support, etc.) are, and wether or not I'll notice a difference using them.

Thanks a lot.

speed and additional features are love-sources main advantages over gentoo-dev-sources.

gentoo-dev-sources is just gentoo-sources for the 2.6 kernels, nothing experimental unless you consider 2.6 to be experimental.

love-sources has the crazy stuff in it, its just got less tested stuff, but some come at alot of speed boasts (like nick's scheduler, etc) and nice features (lufs for example)

I meant non-RC. 2.6.6 should be released soon.

If you like the ck-sources kernel patchsets, you will like the love-sources patchsets. I was a bit hesitant in using the love-sources but when Con too an extended leave, I figured why not :D

Give it a try, you will like them.

Be careful with lufs, it regularly trashed my files when I was mounting something over ssh.

Ask not what love-sources can do for you -- ask what you can do for love-sources.
