I have fluxbox emerged & startx works fine. But when i type fluxbox I get this Code: | BaseDisplay::BaseDisplay: connection to X server failed.
| ans it doesn't start. Anyone know how to fix this? |

Create a .xinitrc file in your $HOME directory with the line "exec fluxbox" in it. |

To clarify, do this:
Code: | $ echo 'exec fluxbox' > ~/.xinitrc
$ startx |
In the future, you then use 'startx' to get to Fluxbox. _________________ I don't believe in witty sigs. |

Startx only works as root btw. but it does work. |

thats inaccurate information.. it does work as a non-root user..
personally i like using gdm that way i can run root x apps while still in user mode..
