i just started using nfs and when i mount the share on the client side it takes about 5 to 10 minutes. how can i fix this? the server and client use ip addresses only, no names
also i wanted to have several gentoo systems share the /usr/portage/distfiles to save space. can this be done with nfs? is there a security issue with root accessing the share?
x86 and ppc computers.
