I just emerged tuxracer with a gcc-3.2 system When I try to run it I get:
tracy@tracy tracy $ tuxracer

Couldn't chdir to /usr/share/tuxracer (Permission denied)

i had a similar issue. first i deleted the .tuxracer folder that was left on my /home area. next i upped the permissions on the /usr/share/tuxracer folder and everything under it:
chmod -r 777 /usr/share/tuxracer
there's probably a better way, but it got me up and running. |

I would love to find the anser to this as well. It has been happening to me now. Everything was fine it popped up all of a sudden. I checked the permissions of

Looks normal. My account is part of the games group, so I should have no problems.

Megatron2121 : no it doesn't look normal at all :)
I dont know why, but the tuxracer's data permissions are fu*ed up.
try chmod ug+Xw or something like that to get the correct permissions for root and games. (you need exec on the directory, write for everything) ...
someone do a search on bugzilla and report the bug if not already done...

Thank you dioxmat I searched bugzilla and I did not find any reported errors so I submitted one. https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8754
Also thanks for catching the permissions thing. I was just looking at the groups and not the r ,x w permissions
