|

Hello
Okay. I purchased a few weeks ago an AP and a CompaqWL200 network card for about $40 :-p
I have an LFS distro installed downstairs on my router, blah blah blah my computer is upstairs in my room, and I wanna set up Gentoo on it.
Only problem is, I'm booting using the livecd (1.4 rc1-rc2), but it doens't detect my card. when I look into /proc/pci, it tells me I have a Cirrus PCMCIA to PCI bridge. Alright so far.
I tried to load the O.... module and the Hermes one, but nothing so far.
Well. That might sound stupid, but how do I net install my Gentoo distro over a wireless connection using a Compaq WL200 card, knowing that make is not included on the LiveCD?
Has anyone managed to do this?
Please help....
Answers in Spanish (native language), English or French.
Thanks
Merci
Gracias
Pascal.
PS : I had a bad day (lost my wallet with various IDs, credit card and a lot of cash) so please help and make my day |

Ok kids
I've found a solution, but I need to ask you all a question :
Is it possible to install a Gentoo disto by downloading all the files from the FTP server and then burn them to a CD?
I know this might have been asked 1000 times.
According to the x86 installation instructions, it seems impossible, since the "emerge" instruction is used several times.
Thanks
Pascal. |
