Hi,
I'm sorta new to Linux, and have a couple of questions regarding mail servers. What i'm after is something that will act as an SMTP server to the internet (allow users on my network to send mail), but download mail from accounts on my ISP and put them in corresponding maildirs.
Any ideas, all I need is something to point me in the right direction.
Thanks,

Postfix would take care of your sending needs and is really easy to set up as seen in the Desktop Guide: http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/desktop.xml#doc_chap5
I think fetchmail would be something to look into when getting mail from you isp's mailserver _________________ :::

qmail is also very easy to setup usder Gentoo, (unlike other distros) it also uses standard .maildir format by default, and can do sendmail emulation. |
