Hello,

I cant get the sym53c8xx_2 driver to work. The disks are connected via a SCA interface and verified working, they also show up in BIOS (compaq smartstart bios) and so does the on-board scsi controller they are connected via. The drives also gets spun up by the POST. The cables are also changed and verified working. (one twoend SCSI cable from the SCA interface to the motherboards SCSI controller).

I have read diffrent forums and googled about problems with the sym53c8xx_2 driver and noticed its a buggy driver in 2.6.11 so I tried diffrent kernels and even dragonflybsd livecd. All gives me parity error, but all uses the same driver, just diffrent versions.

I also heard ncr53c8xx was a better sym driver and I would have tried it, but I cant get it to show up in menuconfig (although the driver sources seems to exists in my kernel tree). And the reason sym1 wont get an IRQ below is because I disabled it for testing purposes if anyone wonders, I also tried to connect the drivers to this port, but the system does not like that at all.

All help much appriciated!

Hardware:
Compaq Proliant 1850R
2x400Mhz PII (smp)
256Mb ECC RAM
3x9,1Gb SCA HotPlug SCSI (connected to one of the two internal scsi controllers, (sym0))
2x9,1Gb Internal SCSI (connected to an external SmartRaid-221)
