Just out of curiousity, is anyone reading this thread at all? I posted to it a couple of days ago when one of the moderators moved my thread to the duplicates. Since then nobody has commented at all. Indeed several threads about different wallpapers are in the Chat forum at the moment and seem quite active.
So, do people only end up reading new threads?

So, if you read this. Please pass comment. Bad as well as good, I'm no great artist and have just been playing with a few ideas for Gentoo stuff.

If this thread is not really looked at, then where is the incentive not to create duplicate threads in order to highlight something new?

I'll stop rambling on now ;-)

I'm reading it. I think not many people read this thread because it's too long. Who wants to read it from the beginning? And if you start at the end, it makes no sense... It's too bad there is nowhere to put these wallpapers so that people will see them. I think daily there is a new wallpaper thread started, and moved to dups. Seems there might be demand for a sticky or something.

I dunno. I like your work though!

A wallpaper designed to look good and function well for desktops with transparent/translucent consoles.

I was playing around with the double o's. ;)

Enjoy.

That logo is good enough to be the offical one if gentoo ever got more corporate... or just wanted a spiffy logo.

Pretty cool, I saved it in my background directory, so I'll remember it when I feel like switching backgrounds next.

Maybe you could have several different colours if it's not too difficult. It would also be nice if there were other sizes available since with 1280x1024 (what I use) you get nasty black borders. But It's great that people do stuff like this. I wish I could. :D

Find me a bigger gentoo logo, and I can make it up to 1600x1200 :P

Maybe you could make a 1280x1024 version with that logo (big please)? It's not that much larger and it would actually fit into my screen perfectly (it's a real pia trying to find backgrounds since they all are 1240x768 or 1600x1200 and create those black borders).

I made a little remix with the GIMP....

New one!

Yup, it's blue with the text in the middle bump-mapped. I hope you all like it. Of course, my job wouldn't have been so easy without the original creator's help. ;)

Edit: Decided to try out blending it with another wallpaper.

I also like the blue one (blue being one of my favorite colors). They are so nice and simple, just the way I like it.

I'm in the process of making a 1600x1200 one, but I really need a high res image of the gentoo logo (word). :(

I have another one which I blended with another wallpaper from the same game. Here it is.

I might make some bigger ones sometime as well for you all with high resolution screens. ;)
