Ahh, I see what he did.

Very amusing. He managed to keep that legal.

Still now you are left with accessing the page directly in some method, so he could block you, or defeat your code cleanup operation in PHP.

This could go on forever, until you have to resort to going to the local internet cafe, floppy in hand, to copy his page.

unless he moves the site to his own host i dont see anything he can do that i cant get past pretty quickly...

i also dont see how he can defeat the code clean up thing since its caching his html to a file on my server then cleaning it up. he would have to prevent that operation, and although i can think of a few ways he could do it it would just take a couple lines for me to prevent that too.

im just being lazy.

I think all he has to do now though is claim copyright. Still he might actually be finding it amusing as well.

its a parody... us copyright law is pretty ok with that...

Quote:
Are you reproducing an article from the New York Times because you needed to in order to criticise the quality of the New York Times, or because you couldn't find time to write your own story, or didn't want your readers to have to register at the New York Times web site? The first is probably fair use, the others probably aren't.

if he has a problem with the parsing bit of it, there is always his RSS feed which is more or less the same thing I display.

Fair use is based on a subjective decision by the judge.

But, I did notice on law.com:

Not subject to copyright are short phrases, titles, extemporaneous speeches or live unrecorded performances, common information, government publications, mere ideas, and seditious, obscene, libelous and fraudulent work.
