I all.
I couldn't find a HPPA live CD in any mirrors I visited, but the install doc has references to this architecture in it.
Any hints?
Thanks.

Thanks spanky,
I was directed to a file here: http://gentoo.oregonstate.edu/experimental/hppa/livecd/ - it's a 28MB file as opposed to 63MB. I don't know what the difference is yet, but I got it working from a stage 3 tarball.
I haven't touched the machine since it finished though as Uni has started.

Hi I tried to install a Gentoo on a HP Visualize C110 with the LiveCD mentioned in the subject but had a few probs:
- Module dependencies failed during startup
- Internal Intel i82596 didn't work => no networking available => had to predownload all software necessary
- Due to limited C110 system resources (even with 256MB RAM the C110 is still an oldie, and it takes forever to compile something) I tried to use a stage3 install but failed becuase of a corrupt file (or something else that went wrong here). It said corrupt parts of file abort.
So is there a different way to install gentoo on a C110 ?
How would you proceed ? |
