New hard drive says out of space w/ only 4gb used up?

Hello!

Got a new 200 gig WD hard drive, one partition reiserfs, started putting stuff on it, got to 4gb, and now it's saying it's no space left on device.

How do i fix?

isn't there somethign you gotta do w/ a new large hard drive to make them work? other than just put in, fdisk, mkfs, mount?

I think a fsck.reiserfs --fix-fixable fixed it, strange, as it was a new partition..

Same problem here, same solution (fsck.reiserfs --fix-fixable). Hard drive in question is an 80GB WD800JB, so the BIOS limitation on hard drive size is presumably not an issue.

Has anyone else had this problem before? Is it mkfs.reiserfs? Is it coreutils? Is it the hard drive? Is it the kernel (2.6.3)? I would kind of like to avoid this happening in the future....
