Hi,
I've been able to get Red Hat 7.2 running on my Alpha 4100 (2 processors), and now would like to try Gentoo (I've heard that it works very well with Mono (go-mono.org).

I've burned the boot CD from the Gentoo mirrors and I boot it from the SRM console. All seems to go well until the point where it detects my SCSI cdrom and tries to load the image (where it says 'this may take up to 2 minutes').

At that point it just seems to hang.

Any Ideas? I'm now trying to put the stage 3 tarball (ev5, even though the Alpha 4100 is an ev56) on the Red Hat 7.2 and see if I can follow the instructions for installng from that point.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated!
