GCC Update script 3 failed

hi,

I was Upgrading my system as described in the tutorial but my script three failed ...

the errer message was like emerge foo FAILED thats it

this seems to be a major problem since the login routines and so on have been changed, what can i do to restore my old gcc or save the upgrade?
