Hi, I have an
Athlon XP
Motherboear : K7S5A v3.1 (SiS 735 Chipset) from ECS
There is a Sis900 Ethernet card on board
and I also have a Linksys ethernet card (tulip driver).
When I boot the install CD for Gentoo 1.2 the PCI detection does not detect anything. But if I modprobe tulip and Sis900 my network card are correctly loaded.
With Gentoo 1.4 pci-setup dopes not detec anything and the modprobe doesn't work at all.
Can somebody help me please?
Thanks

Are using the Live CD iso for 1.4 or the UT2003 live iso? Or maybe something else? I sued the UT2003 live cd and it autoloads you nic and just needs you to set them up and start networking (rc-update add net.ethx default and /etc/init.d/net.ethx start). To set them uop there is a new menu config in 1.4 or you can hand edit /etc/conf.d/net.

I downloaded the 1.4 ut_2003 live cd. But my nic are not loaded correctly. There is a bunch of error message (etho illegal signtaure 0xfffff).
Strangely, with 1.2 it works fine. Just need to modprobe my nic and evrything works. |
