Hi, I upgrade gnome from 2.4 to 2.6 few days ago. Everything works great but after few restarts I found that computer icon don't work anymore. When I try to open it a get error 'Invalid Action Associated'

Quote:
The action associated with "computer" is invalid.

You can configure GNOME to associate a different application or viewer with this file type. Do you want to associate an application or viewer with this file type now?

I tried to open compter:/// address in nautilus 'location menu'this show me other error: 'Can't Display Location'

Quote:
"computer:///" is not a valid location.

Please check the spelling and try again.

Also when I try to connect to my friends sftp with sftp://address the same errors appears. This is annoying because this works few days ago. I found this at gnome bugzilla and screenshot with similar problem but i still don't know how to repair it :(

I reemerge nautilus package 2 times with no luck I also add few other users on my machine to check if I this will start working with fresh settings.

Any ideas what is wrong ?

Thanks, Dagonarth

I had the same problem and this helped me:

Code:

emerge -C gnome-vfs-extra
emerge gnome-vfs gnome-vfs-extra

Gnome-vfs appears to be reponsible for the "Computer" icon and other things, and to reemerge it you need to unemerge gnome-vfs-extra first.

Hope this helps.
