i've installed and configured this kernel but when i boot it just after it starts xinetd it says

and just sits there.

this is the /proc/interrupts for my 2.6.2 kernel:

CPU0 CPU1
18: 20831 6180 IO-APIC-level libata, ohci1394, uhci_hcd, eth0

(rest cut for brevity)
what do you think could be causing this problem??? i really want to try this kernel :D

thanks

My guess is you are running into the usb/uhci bug that seems to be floating around. I've noticed it in every kernel release (vanilla, mm, love anything) after 2.6.2 Not sure what the solution is, but from what I've seen on the kernel mailing lists, it seems to have something to do with one of the message queues getting clobbered, causing any messages from the usb system to be dropped. Not sure what the solution is. It seems to be related somehow to hotplug. It doesn't seem to happen to me until i try to remove a device, then I get a "control timeout on ep0in" message, and all usb devices will stop working. People using the ohci-hcd driver and ehci-hcd seem to be unaffected, but you have to use whatever your board requires.

I am getting badness in get_phy_reg and set_phy_reg, each in ohci1394.c The system boots, but I really want a stable kernel with none of this "badness". I'm also getting unresolved symbols in the ALSA modules.

What did you do to get your working?

I am trying love-sources for the first time (2.6.5-love3) on my P4 and if I try to use the nvidia xfree drivers I lock up at a blank screen when xfree is loading. If i just use the plain "nv" xfree drivers everything works fine...

I just did a stage 1 (from knoppix) w/ bootstrap 2.6 and installed udev, and after
getting a few problems worked out my system seems to be up
and running....
I used 2.6.5 love3 and the problem I'm running into is when I get
to compiling madwifi, it says a bunch of files are missing....
anyone know what the problem could be?
I'm pretty sure it's not a problem w/ the kernel but my guess
was the header files....

I cant see all the missing stuff from the beggining cause it cuts off
but here's some I can see:
/lib/modules/2.6.5-love3/build/include/linux/config.h:6:22: asm/kgdb.h
/usr/include/asm/irq.h:16:25: irq_vectors.h

as far as I can see those are the 2 that are missing...

I think I had the "Disabling IRQ #18" problem when I first set up this machine, it was because I was using SATA drives. ACPI needed to be turned on to make it work, try and see if that helps.

Does 2.65-love3 have the io-select patch?

PostPosted: Sun Apr 11, 2004 11:17 am    Post subject: Wireless card is eth2 with love sources and eth1 with others Reply with quote

Well, I took the plunge and emerged love3. I can't say that I notice many differences, mostly because I wouldn't notice them even if if they smacked me in the face, but the Orinoco patch for Kismet works perfectly. Only one question...

Why, with love kernels, is my Orinoco wireless card always put as eth2? Especially when with other kernels it's eth1. Doubly bizarre because I don't have a second ethernet port, unless it's considering my firewire port as a potential ethernet address and thus is routing my wifi card to the third ethernet port?

This behavior isn't particularly bothersome, but I would like to know what's going to happen in the future so that I can update all my scripts to eth2 if I need to. Specifically, as long as I use love sources, will the wifi card _always_ stay as eth2?

hello :)

i`m using love-sources for the some period of time , but i have a question for You :) if i using love without Nick`s sheduler ( 2.6.5-love2 for example ) everyting is ok , but when i using love with this sheduler , something is wrong.
when i have the big cpu usage , kernel reactions are slow. mouse pointer start with delay when for example .

maybe is this effect of Nick`s sheduler ? is this possible ?
if no , so i don`t know when is a reson of poor reactions
if yes , so can I deactivate this sheduler with next version of love ? :)
on other kernel soruces without nick`s sheduler everyting is ok also in love without this patch .
and next question : when reiser4 will back to the love:) ?

greetingzzz :)
