fdisk does not create new partitions...I get this error...how can I fix ?

Warning: invalid flag 0x0000 of partition table

When you are in fdisk, what does the 'p' option display for the partition table?

nothing ... there are no partitions on the drive

Do you have any data on the disk? You may want to take a look at the 'v' (verify) and 'o' (create a new empty DOS partition table) options. Of course, don't do the 'o' if you have data on it that you want.

What are you typing on the command line to run fdisk?

I downloaded parted which worked....wierd
