Hi,

I was trying to upgrade to Gnome 2.0.2 today but it kept failing at the ORBit2 install. Going through the make output turned up an error 'sh: i686-linux-pc-gnu-gcc: command not found'. I faffed around removing optimisations from gcc for quite a while trying to work out what could be causing the problem and then settled for the good old klugde ;-)

ln -s /usr/bin/gcc-3.2 /usr/bin/i686-linux-pc-gnu-gcc

I've no idea why ORBit2 is calling the gcc that way but everything worked after setting up the link. I haven't filed any bug report because I think it may have something to do with me using an early release of Gentoo 1.4 (pre rc) so I guess I just have myself to blame. Anyway if anyone else has this problem hopefully this might get things working for you..
