Tribes 2 (the FPS) server problems

Hi

I just installed Tribes 2 a couple of days ago (under linux, the linux version) and after i click the Create Account Button and fill everyting in, I press continue and it says

Login Failed-you either have problems with ur internet or the servers are unavailable.

I waited a couple of day and tryed again.
Same thing.

I dicide to go to my friends house and see if his Tribes2(Windows works) apperatly it does and without a glich. I invited him in to my house and we tried to use his account

SAME PROBLEM

anybody else have a simular problem for Linux Tribes2 and they solved it somehow? :evil:

I just ran a test with UT-2004 demon (online) and q3a online and they both work fine while tribes2 still has the same problem.

Have you patched your Tribes2 game? If not I think you may need to as the patch is like 90MB or something.

I have the latest version available (the one from portage) and when i play on lan it works fine. b4 when i started up tribes2 it asked for the update. Then i found the portage version wich is the latest and it has no porblems exept with the servers whatsoever

I just remebered could it be that my firewall blocks me out ?

Turned off my firewall still the same problem.

Login failed - Either you have problems with your internet connection or the servers are unavailable.

Doen anybody else who play Tribes2 have or had the same problem? Any ideas on how to solve it?

people plz post if you linux port of Tribes 2 work or not becuase then i will either try to get it running or uninstall it.

i tried turning off the firewall and even Connecting the cable directly tom my Pc

No problems here with the latest version of tribes2, so its definitly something on your computers side (not that that solves anything)

Maybe try reinstalling, or manually installing it (without the ebuild)

if i install it without the ebuild it won't update (ill send the message later) and ebuild installs fine and it works normally on lan

There is a problem with loki_update yes, but you can find a solution on these forums (to patch the version of loki_update used in the updates)

The loki updater shows a message that says

Some directory "+ or - 6 doesn't exist cannot updated

or something like that
