I followed the handbook step by step to install Gentoo on my Ultra5, finally when I reboot the machine, it shows me that !! /dev/shm faild to mount.
but I can still log in the newly installed Gentoo.
I tried to review the handbook but it did not mention anything about /dev/shm.
Well, what is /dev/shm anyway? how can I get rid of the error in booting process?
Thanks |

You need to enable tmpfs support in your kernel. It's under File Systems. A few things will break in non-obvious ways if you don't have it enabled, so it's probably wise to turn it on... |
