Ok, im desperate for some good visualizations on my 64-bit setup. I finally got my sound card working and now i cant get visualizations. Trying to compile them from source always fails, they dont recognise the architecture. Also i think there are some asm items in there. I thought about making a chroot environment. But I dont wanna use up a lot of space just for making this. Could I download the binary versions of xmms and the visualizations and get them to work? I emerged the emulation libraries, though i havent tested opengl emulation. I have a geforce-4. _________________ CFLAGS="-march=i386 -m64"

how exactly would i get that to work. create a sand box that contains 32-bit versions of xmms, and the visualizations? The only issue is i have yet to get glide working. I copied all the necesary things into their emulation directories, but I cant get any 32-bit gl apps to work. _________________ CFLAGS="-march=i386 -m64"

I'm not sure if a 32-bit version of xmms would be needed. If a 64-bit operating system can use 32-bit programs natively, why can't a 64-bit program use 32-bit plugins natively? _________________ Petition for Better 64-bit ATI Drivers - Sign Here

from what i understand it is difficult to get 32-bit and 64-bit programs to interface nicely. a good example is the 32-bit version of flash on a 64-bit version of mozilla. For some reason, you cant load the plugin right. I dunno, thats what i have been told. If i am wrong, plz correct me. Has anyone gotten visualizations to work on amd64? _________________ CFLAGS="-march=i386 -m64"
