Has anybody managed to get ASLA working under sparc with 2.6 kernel yet? I have an Ultra 5, running from development-sources 2.6.3 kernel, with kernel ASLA drivers loaded for the built in CS4231.
modules.d/alsa...
Code: |
alias char-major-116 snd
alias char-major-14 soundcore
alias snd-card-0 snd-sun-cs4231
alias sound-slot-0 snd-card-0
alias sound-service-0-0 snd-mixer-oss
alias sound-service-0-1 snd-seq-oss
alias sound-service-0-3 snd-pcm-oss
alias sound-service-0-8 snd-seq-oss
alias sound-service-0-12 snd-pcm-oss
alias /dev/mixer snd-mixer-oss
alias /dev/dsp snd-pcm-oss
alias /dev/midi snd-seq-oss
options snd cards_limit=1
|
emerged alsa-lib, and alsa-utils currently at 1.0.3
init.d/alsasound seems to start up ok, and all the modules look to load cleanly, /proc/asound looks intact, but when I run any userland programs they fail.
For example:
# alsamixer
alsamixer: function snd_ctl_open failed for default: Invalid argument
Any suggestions to make my box less quiet? |

Everything except the mixer works. If you get a box with a hardware mixer it'll run ok. Send patches. |

I'm having big issues with alsa on 2.6.3. Also no mixer support...so I want back to OSS (never understood the whole fuzz about alsa anyway). But...am I blind or is there no OSS driver for cs4231 cards in 2.6 ? |
