|
|
I've got a Sun Ultra Enterprise 1, bootstrapped and emerged system with no problems... however I am having a lot of trouble trying to get the kernel to compile.
Here is the error:
ld -m elf64_sparc -r -o scsidrv.o scsi_mod.o qlogicfc.o sym53c8xx_2/sym53c8xx.o esp.o qlogicpti.o st.o
sd_mod.o sr_mod.o
qlogicpti.o(.rodata+0x8): multiple definition of `mbox_param'
qlogicfc.o(.rodata+0x8): first defined here
ld: Warning: size of symbol `mbox_param' changed from 114 in qlogicfc.o to 67 in qlogicpti.o
make[3]: *** [scsidrv.o] Error 1
make[3]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/linux-2.4.21-sparc-r1/drivers/scsi'
make[2]: *** [first_rule] Error 2
make[2]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/linux-2.4.21-sparc-r1/drivers/scsi'
make[1]: *** [_subdir_scsi] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/linux-2.4.21-sparc-r1/drivers'
make: *** [_dir_drivers] Error 2
Any ideas what the problem could be? Thanks!

Fixed. I made the QLogic drivers modular. |

Well qlogicfc.o is the module for qlogic pci fibre channel cards, which I highly doubt you have in you U1. Remove that driver from you config.
Also, 2.4.21 is kinda old, it's not even in portage anymore, if you can, try using something newer. |
