Hi to all:
I have downloaded J2sdk 1.4.2_04 from sun, that i need to develop some applications. And as i only want one java vm, i would like to know how to make gentoo recognize that i have this jvm (for example for installing openoffice, because now i have a jvm as dependency), and java-config only shows the possible ebuilds that i can have but nothing to add. Maybe writing something in /etc/env.d/java?
Thanks a lot |

There is a tool called "java-config" in gentoo that will help you manage your JVMs (look for it in the documentation section -maybe via google)
I, however, am too lazy to use it and just wrap my /opt/[some jdk]/bin/java in a shell script. _________________ 1) Dell Inspiron 8600, 1,4GHz PM, GeForce 5650Go
