Well there are many specific threads about sony's and also there is the comment in the FAQ about them too. I know there are people using Gentoo on Sony laptops, but this in now way guarantees that yours will work. You might want to get a little more specific on what you have, and maybe even what you are concerned will not work.

I have an older sony PCG-F540 and it works fine, no problems.
