Hi
I'm confused again ...
I emerged apache and afterwards mod_php ... all went well and I added the apache server to the default runlevel and started it. I've also done that ebuild post install part.
The server produced the well known "it worked" apache page but I couldn't get a php script to run.
Now I thought maybe the normal php package is need too. (because the dekstop guide refers to it) and I emerged php too. But at the end I get this ouptut:
Code: | *
* Please don't use this package on a webserver.
* There is no security compiled in.
* |
But that's exactly what I was planning to use php for
I hope someone can help to clarifie a thing or two thanks! _________________ regards, Legshot |

A forum search for "php and package and webserver and security" turned up this thread. Does it clear anything up? _________________ For every higher wall, there is a taller ladder |

mod_php is the Webserver module. php is the command-line module. (Which I use constantly to write shell scripts that can access MySQL) _________________ Gentoo:
