Hello
I have a card graphic: ATI Radeon 7000. When I install Gentoo 1.4, I use driver "ati_drivers"
But I don't know, Why I can't use Xfree86 Envroniment...When I see error log of Xfrre86. I have a message: No device not found...
Please help me |

ati-drivers only works on Radeon 8500 and up. You should use one of the many configuration options (xf86config, xf86cfg, X -configure. I can never remember which one's best) to set up your system with the radeon driver. If you want 3D support too, read over the Direct Rendering Howto; but get X to work normally before trying that.
If you did have a card the ATI drivers supported, fglrxconfig (IIRC; I have a Radeon 7500 myself) would be the proper config tool. _________________ Former Gentoo user; switched to Kubuntu 7.04 when I got sick of waiting on gcc. Chance of thread necro if you reply now approaching 100%... |
