Hi,
I have a similar Problem like described in https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=14586.
I'm using a Canon BJC 6200. I have installed ghostscript and gimp-print-cups and I get the same messages as described above.
When i try 'cat "test" > /dev/lp0' or /dev/usb/lp0, then the Printer powers on, but there is no output.
Is there is a package missing?

For the time being I've been concentrating on the cat trying to get the printer to do something. In my experimentation, cat "test" > /dev/lp0 does nothing, cat "test" /devlp0 (no >) with the switch box no set to the printer exists with an I/O error in /dev/lp0. Doing it with the switch set to printer prints out the contents of file to screen along with a short line of junk every 10 second about. But the printer seems unresponsive, though it must obviously be detected.
So similar problem... I'd like to be able to at some point get it to do something.. |
