I just recently installed a Gentoo system using 2004.0 Live CD.

I am using kernel linux-2.6.3-gentoo-r1

Everything seems okay thus far, the only problem I am having is that I configured a system with Apache2 and mod_php and when I try to start apache it hangs.

It seems like one of those crazy random problem where the kernel is running out of random bits. It just sits there forever and the apache log says

Digest: generating secret for digest authentication ...

It will sit there forever if you don't do anything. I am configuring everything remotely so I never touch the server's keyboard. Now, if I bang on the server's keyboard a little (generate a little random input) everything will eventually take off, otherwise it just sit's there forever.

Anyone else have these random problems? Any way to fix it?
