ok im not sure if anyone else is having this problem, but when i try to load CPMA mod through xqf it always resorts back to my q3config.cfg in my ~/.q3a/baseq3/ directory when it should write a q3config.cfg to my ~/.q3a/CPMA directory, which it does but doesnt use it the next time the game is loaded.
now in xqf the gametype is labeled CPMA which that is directory used for the mod, but im thinking quake3 isnt reading CPMA as cpma or whatever, im not sure how to explain it but ive created a symlink ln -s ~/.q3a/CPMA ~/.q3a/cpma but still no luck with using the proper config file
if anyone knows what the hell im talking about (its 4am here please help me out
thanks _________________ .. ...kemical. ... .. .. |

First off, you should make everything lower case to make it easier to handle.
Secondly, what command line are you giving to load Quake 3 ? My Windows shortcut is "\Quake3\quake3.exe +set fs_game cpma +exec ard.cfg"
Linux should use similar command line... +set fs_game cpma
If you have real problems, you could see if anyone on #promode on irc.enterthegame.com has any ideas on how to get it working. |

I'm an XQF n00b. It seems to have been acting strangely regarless of mod. So I started Copying the IP from XQF to the command line and starting with something like...
Code: | $ quake3 +set fs_game q3ut2 +exec xamot.cfg +connect 192.168.1.100
|
A little alias or scripting magic and this gets even easier.
I wonder if we could convince the ASE makers to create a Linux version of that. It is the best game browser there is. That or XQF should stop looking at gamespy and start looking at ASE as the standard to follow. |

yea those options do work, but as far as xqf is concerned it displays either CPMA or cpma whichever is written as the server config, which i have no control over.
so in regards to xqf running cpma, i believe there is no hope
i tried symlinks yet again but it seems it still wont read the correct q3config file no matter if its CPMA or cpma, and now it wont even write the config file
any other suggestions would be appreciated. _________________ .. ...kemical. ... .. .. |
