For those of you that haven't heard: http://www.ina-community.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=353897

linux32/amd64 installer on 1st disc.

If you're in the UK though you probably wont be able to buy it until Friday 19th, as Atari UK and UK retailers seem to be retards.

Means the final code has been compiled, packaged and released to be duplicated and packaged for resellers.

I now feel a little less ignorant.

Can't decide if I'm excited or not...I was a hardcore ut player, but ut2k4 seems...different somehow. I suppose only time will tell.

Whoohoo. I guess i'll be pre-ordering my copy today. Anyone have the cheapest prices on the net? I'm assuming they'll be about the same everywhere.

It is too much like UT2003 (which was a miserable failure), but onslaught is fun...that may be the thing that will float UT2004. :o

Gamestop has the $60 special edition (DVD and comes with a headset) for $40. If you had ordered a few days ago (Expired first of March) there was a coupon code I used from them that nets you free 2-day shipping as well.

Awesome. I checked gamestop.com, and there is a store right next to me that I never knew existed. I'll just go there, pre-order it, and skip the shipping. I'd probably miss it anyways when I'm at work. Thanks floam for the heads up.

Does anyone know if the voice stuff will work with linux? The special edition comes with a headset, I've been using a sipphone adapter (sipphone.com) with a few family members and friends, but it would be great to have voip in the game. Another reason I like the sipphone adapters is no matter what OS my friends/family use it works, and easy to set up for the non technical. I hope UT2k4 voice works across platforms and is easy to set up.

Oh yeah, and if you use any linux and play UT2k4, make sure you play it ON linux. Apparently, it's easy for the creators of games to know what OS you're running when on a server, lets raise the Linux percentage and send a message!! That's almost as good as buying a linux-only game port.

Thanx,
Stan

Since voice chat is working in the demo, I don't see why it wouldn't be shipped with the full game so you can pretty much count on it.

Voice already works in the demo? Good thing, I pre-ordered the special edition, the head set I have right now is broke, had to fix it with tape.

Thanx,
Stan
