Hi,
I'm trying to install Gentoo on a Dell Inspiron 8000 with a Xircom PCMCIA card (from the gentoo-ix86-1.2.iso)
Everything goes fine, until after the cardmgr -f I insert the pcmcia card in.
I'm getting a beep and the following error:
Code: |
...
cardmgr[167]: executing: ' ./network start eth0'
cardmgr[167]: + ./network: sed: command not found
cardmgr[167]: + ./network: /bin/hostname: No such file or directory
cardmgr[167]: + ./network: /etc/init.d/net.eth0: No such file or directory
cardmgr[167]: start cmd exited with status 127
...

How can the SED not be on the install disk if it's required in the install process ?
Thanks,
philip |

I found where the problem seems to be:
The /etc/pcmcia/network script makes a call to sed just in the first few lines of this script.
And guess what ? There is no trace of sed on the big bad install disk....
