Hi

I've tried all week too get this working (following the printing how-to).
What I am trying to do is print from my gentoo box to a windows shared canon bjc-210sp, I am aware that support is only in b/w but that doesnt matter right now....

OK so I've followed the walkthrough and printing actually works, except the printer doesn't wrap text, on printing a test page (using cupsd or openoffice) the text
    A) looks like it tried printing across 1.5 pages; and
    B) Seems to be only printing 'raw' output -- openoffice had all its rtf symbols printed

So I've followed the walkthrough fine cause it does print, but not properly
Im using the printer ID as 49568 and driver as bj200 (this is the defaults in Mandrake and it does print so....)

Another thing when I was setting up cups (via localhost:631) I could only choose my driver as one of
    * Raw
    * DYNO
    * EPSON
    * HP
    * OKIDATA

Even after the appropriate ppd was generated by foomatic-configure, and placed in /etc/cups/ppd/ -- I chose raw (hence raw data probably), but shouldnt there have been a CANON or something given the ppd file being in the folder.....?

So can someone give me a kick in the right direction please?

This might sound stupid, but did you set the paper format on 'Letter'? I had it set on 'A4' (since that is what I print on), and that got the 1.5-page problem you seem to have.

Just thought you might give that a shot, since you haven't gotten any replies. I'm a bit lost in the printing jungle myself, but now I've finally gotten it to work... :)
