I am REALLY Impressed with the client for Linux. I have a Radeon 9800 Pro with an NF7-S, and this game gets like 40 fps higher than in Windows.

Which drivers are you using? I got a 9800 PRO about a week ago and I'm having similar problems to this guy (look at his screenshot ). Using 3.2.8 right now as it seemed like 3.7 didn't perform too well.
I have an MSI K7N2 Delta L motherboard (nForce 2 Ultra 400 chipset) using 2.6.2-gentoo-r1. I tried 2.6.3 but something seemed funky w/ my tv card, so I've gone back to 2.6.2. for the time being. Rest of the system is an AMD 2500+, 512MB Kingston PC3200, onboard Realtek sound (ALSA)... The game runs beautifully under Windows. Get about 50 - 70 FPS in Windows, so 40 extra would be really cool
(just tried 3.7 again.. same problem)
(tried 2.6.3 again too.. same problem w/ both AA and my tv card ) |

Too bad since 2.0 there has been a glut of annoying players. Spamming chat non-stop. Spamming 203s. Exploiting bugs in maps *repeatedly.* Abusive language beyond just cursing. The game itself is righteous, but the overall maturity and honor of its players has hit bottom. And no admins around to tend to any of this, at least any that care.
2.0 was the version that drove me off. |

It runs like crap on my system. No matter what resolution I run it at or how high (or low) I put the details at, it runs like crap.
I tried it last night for the first time and was very dissapointed. I unmerged it after playing for just a short while.
Oh well. I'm glad it works for some of you.
I've been having so much fun with Enemy Territory that I probably wouldn't have played it much anyways. _________________ What is the best [insert-type-of-program-here]? |

Here's a silly thought. Games ran pretty bad on my system until I enabled DMA on all my drives.
Call me paranoid, but I feel ... paranoid ... using a game that was developed by the military for the purpose of recruitment....

Actually, I thought it was a little strange that you need to create an account on their website to save your progress in the game. But, I did it anyways (with a junk email address of course).
Surprisingly somebody had already taken 00420 as a name, either that or it's just an invalid name. I've never had a problem with that name before. I just ended up using OO42O, same difference.
Oh well, they can keep my name and their game. _________________ What is the best [insert-type-of-program-here]? |
