|

I have seen several posts stating that people get similar performance with winex as they had in windows, but that has not been my experience. I have been using the sims for a performance judge and the video lags terribly (1-2 seconds behind mouse). The opening video is nice, but the game is hardly playable. Are there any secrets to getting better video performance in winex because I had the sims running in windows with less ram, a weaker video card and a lower processor speed and it ran fine. Any tips? _________________ The answer |

Moving to Gaming from Multimedia, since it's a better fit there. _________________ I don't believe in witty sigs. |

How did you get the Sims to install on linux? When I tried to use winex to install the game, winex just returns to the command line without doing anything. I do not plan on investing the Mandrake version of The Sims just to relieve myself. I am really interested in getting the windows version of The Sims to work, regardless fo the video performance.
Please help. _________________ I am very new to this world...Please be gentle |

I could install the win version of Sims with the following command:
winex _s327.exe 1
(it is in the setup/English folder)
this installs the game nicely, but it is unplayable (slooow and exits after two minutes); so if anybody finds a way to run it, please share the secret |
