"net-wireless/madwifi-driver" on AMD64?

I just noticed that Gentoo has a net-wireless/madwifi-driver, but it isn't marked (even as experimental) on any architecture but x86.
Does anybody have this driver working on AMD64, or can anyone at least confirm that it definitely does not work?
Compiling from today's CVS, I get several build errors and quite a few warnings about trying to cast a 64-bit pointer into a 32-bit int.
