I'm planing on Building a set-top Box out of a Via EPIA Motherboard. it isn't necessary for the TV Signal to go through the Box, all I want it to do Is plug in to the Aux in. on my television so that I can use it to watch DVD/DIVX and also have an audio/MP3 Player. I am looking for advice on how to control the device as It will not require a keyboard or mouse I'd like all the functionality to be accessible using an IR Remote. what Window Managers can support this functionality? does anyone have any idea's advice etc to offer as this will be quite an undertaking for someone with limited linux experience like myself. |

Just found out about freevo, it looks really cool. Did you get a chance to write about the install process? |

Well I have full plans to document it on a website that I'm going to host on another machine that I just built from spare parts
My appearance of my apartment is starting to scare me. in my living room I have a PPro 200 Doing router/firewall junk. a Celeron 400 w/320 MB Ram as a LAMP/ftp/samba/whatever else server. A P150 Laptop that I've been trying to get working, a Beauty XP2100/512MB/60GB/GF4ti4200 with a 17" LCD That's been there for a few days, i'm installing gentoo on it for a friend who wants to learn linux. plus I Keep my desktop system in the living room, as does my roommate. so thats like 6 computers in a small apartment living room |
