Oi galera!

Bem, eu comecei anteontem meu contato com Linux, entao espero que compreendam q sou MUITO leigo nessa área =D

Instalei o Gentoo e o KDE, mas nao consegui configurar o som (uso a placa integrada na Asus P4P800) e a Ethernet (Tambem a placa integrada à placa-mãe, uma 3Com Gigabit )

Qualquer dica ou orientação que possa me tirar do sufoco seria MUITO bem vinda :)

faz o seguinte (com root):

lspci

E da oma olhada no cartao de audio e rede. Seguramente o driver esta disponivel no kernel tree. Se nao estiver, cola aqui os dados do lspci e tentare te-ajudar.

O cartao de rede e suportado pelo kernel. vc tem que compilar o kernel novamente e quando faz o menuconfig tem que escolher o suporte para "Marvell Yukon / SysKonnect SK-98xx"

O cartao de audio acho deveria ser compativel com o i8XX. Tenta abilitar-lo dentro da opcao Sound tambem dentro do menuconfig

Disculpa, eu falo bem portugues mais sou um cu escrevendo :wink:

bem, infelizmente nao entendi muito bem o que voce disse, mas de qualquer jeito vou tentar encontrar algum amigo meu que intenda um pouco mais de linux e que possa me "traduzir" tudo direitinho.

Escolhe
Sound --->
<M> Sound card support
<M > Intel ICH (i8xx), SiS 7012, NVidia nForce Audio or AMD 768/811x

Network device support --->
Ethernet (1000 Mbit) --->
<M> Marvell Yukon Chipset / SysKonnect SK-98xx Support
(precisa kernel 2.6)

Exit, Save Configuration

E compila o kernel novamente, faz reboot e depois carrega os modulos.
