Will the nVidia drivers work with a system compiled with GCC 3.2? I have a feeling this has been answered elsewhere here, but after about an hour of searching I haven't been able to find anything.

yes, I have tried that. Now I admit, I'm pretty much a Gentoo newbie, but I have tried everything in the tutorial, as well as all the docs I've found, but nothing's worked so far. Are more people gettting this to work than not??

They work fine for me on 1.4 with GCC 3.2. Do they not compile at all, or are you getting problems trying to use them?

Ignore the error-messages, reboot, and see if it works. It did for me at one time when I was getting this kind of error.

I'm not sure if this'll help, but I think that you're supposed to install the kernel package first, then the glx package. That's what it says in the readme anyway, and I've never run into problems doing it that way.

the nvidia dependancies should ensure they are installed kernel then glx...

Short answer: if you are using an Athlon, try setting your kernel CPU configuration to Pentium III.
Long answer: search the forums for "_mmx_memcpy".
