What does your menu.lst file look like? Did you mount /boot before copying the kernel over?

why should I mount /boot before copying the kernal image(/boot/bzImage)?

I tried, but I failed. It didn't make any difference.

p.s : while installing (x86), we already mounted /boot. Then.. should I mount /boot again?

If you installed according to the instructions, the /boot partition is not mounted by default. Copying something without mounting it will not really copy it to where you want.

Could you elaborate on this? What did you try, what failed?

/boot will be unmounted if you reboot, thus, you'd need to 'mount /boot' again when the system comes up. Of course, you'll only want to mount /boot when you need it mounted.

This only applies if /boot is on its own partition and you've configured it the recommended way as per the Installation Guide.

Split off from this thread. Does not appear to be the same problem.
