Hey,
I've gotta Blade 100, and no matter what file system I use, or where I DL the stage(3) from my tar -xvjpf always returns a "bzip2 data integrity error ..". The checksums check out before the tar, but get f'ed after the tar. This has happened with 1.4 and 2004.0...

I see others running gentoo on sparc, I'd like to also... :(.

Thanks,

ez-prey

When you boot the livecd, try the following at the silo prompt

Code:
gentoo ide=nodma

The Blade 100 controller has known fs corruption with DMA enabled under linux. I'm surprised that you're having this problem as the kernel on the LiveCD has used the option to not enable the dangerous modes that cause this problem.

Maybe, but it was just running ( and being used ) with sol9. But with Sun that doesn't mean much...

Thx,

Great, glad to hear it :)

When you are setting up your silo.conf file at the end, you will probably want to put that in your append line

Code:
append="ide=nodma"
