how can i figure out if my kernel already has a specific patch applied? that is, if i need to patch it or not. right now im trying to get the sound on my tv tuner to work right, i was thinking the best way to do that would be to make sure i had the lastest drivers. so i headed over to google and found a site that looks like it has the lastest drivers, but i dont know if they are already part of 2.4.19 (it has a bttv option that i have built) or not... does that make any sence? do i know how to spell? _________________ linux-2.4.20 i686 SMP

Try to apply the patch as you would normally, but use the --dry-run option. If it completes without error, remove --dry-run and apply the patch. If you get lots of complaints about "patch already applied, assume reversal?", then abort and assume that the patch has already been applied. _________________ For every higher wall, there is a taller ladder |
