I just got a new hard drive and i wanted to install linux on

I just got a Maxtor 120gb hard drive and i wanted to go into the computer field so i thought that i should experience linux. So i wanted to know what and how to install linux on it to make a dual boot. I have windows cp on my other hard drive so i wanted to make a dual boot. Can anyone help me?

search the forums around for dual boot and you should come up with lots of people who are in your same situation...and lots of useful tips and such as well.
