How can I emerge the source for 2.6.2?

sys-kernel//sparc-dev-sources.
I think you need to have ~sparc in your USE flag. Also, I thought there were some issues with 2.6.x on sparc, but I'm not sure. I haven't tryed it yet. |

My experience with 2.6 on my sparc:
For whatever reason, I was unable to build the rtc module either as a module or into the kernel. This caused some issues with programs depending on the RTC... 'tail -f' for instance.
Additionally, I ran into general stability problems, my keyboard didn't work, and reiserfs seemed to act a bit strange.
Overall, my feeling of 2.6 was that it is in need of a lot of work on the sparc side of things. |
