.DCOPserver error

AAAFter I installed kde, when I started it with "kdm" I got the error:

"could not read network connection list, /root/>DCOPserver_localhost_0"

I got kde 3.03 worked fine in one machine but not in this one. I checked with "ls -al " and found no "Desktop". the chance is the installation of KDE was goofed somehow. I like to reinstall it.

Should I unmerge it first "unmerge kde-base/kde"

or just run emerge kde-base.kde "

Note: twn(Xwindow) worked fine.

I did

# emerge unmerge kde-base/kde

then # emerge kde-base/kde

it only took a few seconds but then the problem remained.

"ls -al" still gave no Desktop.

I read it but just started to understand what he meant.

The solution is so simple but I don't believe that I could ever figure it out myself. Not in million years. Thanks guy, again. great stuff.
