I have a working gentoo system now and i want to emerge apache mysql php and samba
When i do a --pretend it is still going to get X i do not want that
This is in my USE
"-gnome -gtk -X -kde -tcltk -gtk -kdm mysql apache php" What else do i have to exclude to get X out |

I know the latest ebuild of PHP wants qt and pdflib by default, so you may need -qt and -pdf as well.
I liked it better the old way. If it wasn't in USE or it wasn't already installed, the ebuild went without. The way it is now, you'd think you were running windows- Your apps think they know better than you what should be on your system. |
