okay i emerge gnome 2....worked fine for awhile but now after a recent rsync portage wants to "update" all my gnome-base+libs to 1.4 after a emerge -up world ....this obviously is not updating. i tried rsyncing again to solve it
whats up with this? i dont want to "downdate" to gnome 1.4 stuff. and i still want to be able to -u world without checking to see what updates there are and individualy doing them eliminating the use for my favorite thing in gentoo which is updating everything with world
any help would be great thanks |

If you look at what version you have installed, its probably 1.4.1.7; so it is is updating
Code: | # qpkg -I -v gnome-libs
gnome-base/gnome-libs-1.4.1.7 *

vim, gnumeric, abiword, and galeon are some of the packages that depend on this library. Upgrading this will not diminish your Gnome 2 |
